After addressing the topic of fallen angels, Mauro Biglino returns to delve into one of the most mysterious and controversial texts of antiquity: the Book of Enoch.
In this video, the author guides us through one of the most cited yet least understood apocryphal works, clarifying a fundamental point: it is not a single book, but rather a composite corpus with diverse origins, contents, and datings.
Biglino analyzes the structure of the so-called Ethiopic Book of Enoch, divided into five sections - Watchers, Parables, Dreams, Astronomy, and Epistle - highlighting their development over different centuries, from the 5th century BC to the 1st century AD. This rigorous philological work is based on a literal translation from Ge'ez, the ancient sacred Ethiopian language, allowing for maximum respect for the original text without altering it with theological interpretations.
