I have heard and seen from many Christian scholars (that sometimes seems to be an oxymoron) that when Jesus was in front of Pilate, he replied "I am." Supposably that was a reference to Moses being told by Yaweh that when the pharaoh asked who sent him, Moses was. to reply, "I am". It would seem to me that Jesus was simply answering a question but since it was Yaweh that was telling Moses to say "I am", I can't understand why Jesus would want to associate with Yaweh much less identify as him. Am I correct on this?
The start of Christianity seems to be filed with many viewpoints on what it was and who said what. Is it correct to think that the many gospels point to the subjects that are being covered versus exact wording? Every preacher I have ever heard are constantly quoting scripture as if were law. But isn't scripture more of a suggestion as opposed to exact quotes?
Alsso I don't understand how that Jesus is the only way to God and if you don't accept him, you go to hell. This seems to only be in Johns. gospel? How do we know exactly what is going on?
Thank you Paul for all your work.
